senior spotlight: it is what it is…
If you are a senior reading through these blogs for the first time, you may be coming across information that will bring on some FOMO. So many times students have said… “I didn’t know about this until senior year, by then it was too late!” “Nobody mentioned this until graduation!” “I didn’t know until AFTER high school…” We do not have a magic time machine to rewrite your high school experience. It is what it is; accept it and move on. We are NOT going to address at any point what a school should or should not have told you. Information changes quickly these days and most educators are doing their best to keep up and help their students with the resources available. What we can do is try to offer you the most accurate and relevant information for your situation, but you should still consult your counselor, adviser, admissions officer, or financial consultant to ensure the information is relevant to your specific situation. School staff may not ask questions regarding status, so if you are from a mixed status family, do your own research after speaking with financial aid. This series will be written in order and build on previously discussed knowledge so try not to skip around. Here we go!
